Frontier LLMs

Anthropic

Claude as the default model for high-reasoning, long-context agent workflows — especially where safety and steerability matter.

Why we reach for Claude

Claude has earned its place as our default model for agents that need to think carefully, handle long inputs, or operate in regulated environments. Its steerability — the degree to which it follows nuanced system prompts without falling over — is best-in-class for the kinds of workflows we ship.

Where we use Anthropic at QwertyBit

  • Document-heavy agents. Contract review, case summaries, regulatory intake. Long context and careful reasoning are the whole game.
  • Compliance-aware workflows. Claude handles "do X, never Y, always cite" instructions more reliably than many alternatives.
  • Planner agents. When one agent needs to decompose a problem and delegate to specialist sub-agents, Claude's tool-use reliability matters.

When we pair it with something else

We routinely combine frontier models. Claude for the hard thinking, a cheaper model for routine classification, and an embedding model for retrieval. The cost savings from intelligent model routing often pay for the whole engagement.

How this fits into the QwertyBit process

Model choice happens in Phase 4 — feasibility and cost modelling — not at the start. We pick Anthropic because it is right for the specific agent, not because it is the default brand on the poster.
